Why is natural gas pressure regulation necessary?

 

In suburban areas, gas pressure regulating stations are typically used alongside gasification stations as part of the city's gas supply system. This is because the pressure in storage tanks can sometimes be insufficient. The LNG at the front end is pressurized by submersible pumps before being vaporized in the vaporizers. Due to this pressurization, the pressure can be quite high, necessitating the use of pressure regulating systems to reduce it to meet downstream usage requirements.

 

Additionally, because of the pressure limitations of city pipelines, which generally range between 3 bar and 8 bar, it is necessary to regulate the high-pressure natural gas from the front end to ensure it remains within a safe range.
