Germany's SEFE Inks LNG Deal with ADNOC Gas

Germany's state-owned energy company SEFE (Securing Energy for Europe) announced this week it has finalized a three-year Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) supply contract with ADNOC Gas, a subsidiary of the UAE's Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. The deal is valued at approximately $400 million.

Under the agreement, ADNOC Gas will supply SEFE with 700,000 metric tons of LNG annually for three years, starting this summer. The gas will originate from ADNOC Gas's Das Island liquefaction facility, which has an annual capacity of 6 million metric tons.

SEFE stated in its announcement that this agreement reflects the shared vision of both ADNOC Gas and SEFE to expand their global presence and deepen long-term relationships with core energy partners.

SEFE highlighted that the deal builds upon existing energy cooperation between the UAE and Germany. This includes the UAE-Germany Energy Security and Industry Accelerator Agreement (ESIA) signed in 2022, as well as an LNG supply partnership reached in 2024 between ADNOC and EnBW, Germany's largest energy company.
