Air Liquide Invests 50M USD in US Chip Gas Plant
Industrial gas giant Air Liquide Group has announced it will invest over $50 million to build a gas production plant for a semiconductor manufacturing company in the southeastern United States. The plant is expected to be operational by late 2027 and will produce ultra-pure nitrogen and oxygen, essential for chip manufacturing. Its design will ensure these gases meet the high purity standards required by the semiconductor industry.

Matthieu Giard, responsible for Air Liquide's Americas operations, stated, "Air Liquide is proud of its three-decade partnership with the U.S. electronics industry and firmly supports the U.S. semiconductor industry's growth objectives."
The U.S. government has set a target to achieve approximately 30% of global chip output by 2032, a significant increase from nearly 0% in 2021. According to the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology, U.S. foundries are projected to produce about 10% of the world's cutting-edge DRAM chips (used in semiconductors) by 2035.
