Messer's Latest Project Progress in China
From July 16-17, Messer saw the latest developments across three projects in China.
1. Messer Zigong High-Purity Industrial Gas Project
Recently, the 90% 3D model of Messer's Zigong High-Purity Industrial Gas Project, designed by the Xi'an Branch of Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., passed its review. This marks the project's entry into a critical construction phase.With a total investment of RMB 600 million, the project is located in the Zigong Chuannan New Material Chemical Industrial Park.
Phase One, with a total investment of RMB 200 million, will feature two core units:
A 600 tons/day liquid product plant: This will produce industrial gases such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and liquid argon using internationally leading cryogenic rectification technology. It will meet the high-purity gas demands of the electronics, metallurgy, and medical industries in the Chuannan region.
A 6,000 cubic meters/hour pipeline nitrogen plant: This will provide a stable supply of nitrogen directly via pipeline to chemical new material enterprises within the industrial park.
Phase Two will involve an investment of RMB 400 million to construct two "hardcore" units:
A 20,000 cubic meters/hour Air Separation Unit (ASU): Once completed, it will produce high-purity oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and rare gases, catering to the needs of high-end manufacturing sectors like semiconductors and new energy.
A 50,000 cylinders/month cylinder gas production line: This will fill a gap in large-scale bottled gas production in the Zigong area, offering convenient gas supply solutions for laboratories, medical emergencies, welding, and other applications.
2. Kunming Anning Messer Park New Nitrogen Production Project
On July 16, the Anning Branch of the Kunming Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment announced its proposed approval for the "Environmental Impact Report Form for the Kunming Anning Messer Park New Nitrogen Production Project" and disclosed project details.
This project is located in the Petrochemical Recycling Industrial Park, Caopu Town, Anning City, Dianzhong New Area, Yunnan Province. With a total investment of RMB 100.1 million, it will involve the construction of a new 26,000 Nm³/h nitrogen production unit, along with public auxiliary facilities (including a circulating water system, 10kV/380V power distribution system, water supply and drainage within the plant, and lighting/lightning protection/grounding within the plant). Additionally, a new DN500 nitrogen supply pipeline, approximately 0.95 km long, will be built to Yunnan Yuneng New Energy Battery Material Co., Ltd.
3. Xianggang Messer Yuhu High-Tech Zone Gas Support Project
On July 16, the environmental protection acceptance for the completion of the Xianggang Messer Yuhu High-Tech Zone Gas Support Project was announced. The project is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Fanghe Road and Rili Road in the Yuhu High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province. The total investment is RMB 250 million, and the construction unit is Xianggang Messer Gas Products Co., Ltd.
The construction content includes main works (such as an antipyretic gel production workshop, hot pack production workshop, medical cotton pad production workshop), auxiliary works (e.g., laboratory), public utilities, water supply, power supply, roads, environmental protection works, and other related supporting facilities. The main products to be produced are: compressed or liquefied nitrogen (46,800 Nm³/h), compressed or liquefied oxygen (16,200 Nm³/h), compressed or liquefied argon (650 Nm³/h), and compressed or liquefied krypton/xenon (1.5 Nm³/h).
